机票、护照、Offer（入关的时候要查）最好复印3-5份、I-20 （入关的时候要查）最好复印3-5份、护照（主要是照片页与VISA页，入关的时候要查）最好复印3-5份、高中或大学毕业证、国内驾照及翻译（如果你想在这办驾照的话）、体检证明（入关的时候要查）、接机人联系方式、Housing Contract（18岁以下需要家长签字）、带些零的美元（在机场寻求帮助以及坐TAXI时方便给小费）、出生公证；学历公证；至爱照片，如有。
日常用品类
如果你打算和同学合租房子，厨房用品（中国家用的菜刀在美国很难买到）记得带充足。调味料，中国超市都有卖，所以建议空间留给其它用品。
鞋(2～4双，舒适的优先)；袜子(1打，耐穿、纯棉的)；内衣(4套)；拖鞋(塑料和棉的各一双)；卫生用品(女孩特备，主要是美国的型号和国内不太一样)；针线盒(不会也要带，总找得到人帮你的)；梳子；毛巾和牙刷，牙膏(1套)；保温杯一个；指甲剪；饭盒(密封性好些)；筷子4双，勺子2个；床上用品四件套（有些学校会提供）；衣架(不用多带，美国超市有卖，很便宜)；防雨风衣；多功能瑞士军刀；小礼物（少带一点就行）；零钱袋(非常重要，这边1以下全是硬币)；雨伞；雨靴。
电器类
拖线板比什么都重要，因为国外的电源插孔是大三项，和许多国内的电器规格不符。三转二插头(2～3个)；拖线板(2个)；充电电池(4～8节)和充电器；笔记本电脑(最好配有DVD光驱)或主机配件(机箱、显示器等就在当地解决)；打印机线（这边打印机线最便宜也要10刀）；手机(双频或三频)；照相机(数码的比较合适)；闹钟；电话线(3～5米)和鼠标(自己有比较爱好的)；电话(国内买的可真是物美价廉)；电子词典(必备)；录音笔和mp3（根据个人喜好）；网线；软件：WINDOWS，OFFICE的安装盘（美国只有正版卖）和其它常用软件可存在移动硬盘内多带点。
眼镜类
近视眼镜(除了现戴的再备1副；这边验光很贵，如果要配眼镜一点要带来度数证明和翻译件)；隐形眼镜(如有)；太阳镜两副（美国的紫外线强度很大，如要自己驾驶，太阳眼镜非常重要）；眼药水6盒(防疲劳类和抗菌素类各3盒)；护理液一瓶（一般超市都有卖，不用多带）。
药品类
感冒类药、黄莲上清丸、螺旋霉素(防牙痛)、皮炎平(治虫咬)、云南白药、清凉油、风油精、西瓜霜喷剂、抗菌素(先锋等)、吗丁啉、健胃消食片。
注：各位平时若有其他常规补药，也可适量带上，但千万不要带中草药(可带成药)，免得进海关麻烦。抗菌素或其他特效药量多时，最好附上医生的诊断书以做说明。
书类
专业中文书籍可带一点（过去后会发现简直就是救命稻草）。

文具类
自动铅笔（美国只有0.7号的），橡皮，尺子，笔袋，小钉书器（钉书钉）等，由于这些物品均为低值品，在当地购买的话也花费不多，所以建议大家看着办。
衣服类
美国大部分地区夏季早晚温差较大，建议带些春秋天的外套。冬季虽然室外温度较低，但室内都为20度以上。所以建议大家多带过冬外套，不建议带高领衣物。另外建议携带：正装礼服、薄外套、帽子手套围巾（保暖三件套）、游泳装备（美国的男士泳裤和中国的完全不同，多为及膝的宽松裤，如有爱好游泳的男生，也可考虑“入乡随俗”到美国后再买）、薄毛衣、长短袖T恤、牛仔裤、休闲裤、夏穿短裤、防水外套、羽绒服、领带、腰带、长短袖衬衫、运动衣裤等。
