姆明是故事中的主角。从本质上讲，他顽皮，喜欢冒险，善解人意。他是姆明爸爸和姆明妈妈唯一的孩子。他最好的朋友是史力奇。他对歌妮有着浪漫的情怀。

2、史力奇(Nuuskamuikkunen)

姆明最好的朋友。史力奇一年四季除了冬天都住在姆明谷自己的帐篷里面。然后他独自去南方闯荡。

他总是在春天的第一天从南部返回姆明谷，每次他冒险回来，姆明总会向他追问冒险的经过。史力奇经常钓鱼和演奏口风琴。

3、亚美 (Pikku myy)

姆明一族的朋友。个子很小的女孩子，但有着超过年龄的面孔和冷静机智，经常因为说话而伤害了人，但绝对是直性子的好朋友。亚美对姆明一族来说就像是自己的小孩子，史尼夫也是。

亚美的妈妈在故事中的44，61和62集中出现过。亚美的姐妹是故事中提到的梅美拉。亚美和梅美拉有自己的房子，但是亚美很少住在那里。亚美通常住在姆明的房子里面。

4、哥妮(Niiskuneitti)

姆明的女朋友。总是给姆明带来许多乐趣，喜欢撒娇。歌妮通常住在姆明的房子里面，但是也和她的哥哥住在黄色的大房子里面。歌妮喜爱浪漫和花。

5、史尼夫 (Nipsu)

姆明一族收养的小孩，姆明的朋友。从本质上讲，有一些笨拙，且疑心很大，但心地善良，喜欢金币，想象力丰富，敏感。

他有自己的家，类似于地窖。但是更经常住在姆明的房子作为自己的家。史尼夫的梦想是变得富有。
